Year 7 Homework - Castle Challenge

12/01/17

Our year 7 students  undertook their history homework challenge with enthusiasm this term. The challenge required students to design and create their own medieval castle. The standard of the castles we received was exceptional and most students went above and beyond the requirements of the task. We had a range of styles, layouts and materials and our department is now beautifully decorated with their hard work.  Well done year 7.

Parents' Voice

Parent Voice

I regularly attend the parent voice meetings at the North School (usually termly). Although I am a parent Governor I feel that parent voice is very important to me in helping my child’s education whilst at the school. The school is very committed to becoming an outstanding school and to help students to achieve their ambitions in life.  I feel that parent voice meetings contribute to this goal.

During the meetings new policies and procedures are discussed to see whether we think they are suitable and our opinions are valued. We are also talked through the school’s strategies for continuing to improve attainment and how we can assist the students with this at home. We also have an input into updating school resources and what we would like to see on the school website.

In a secondary school, the parental voice can be lost but the North School has realised that this voice is important. By having these meetings both the school and parents can listen, learn and help to improve the environment  and educational experience that our students are in every school day during the week.
