6th Form Community

Rated Good by Ofsted 2015

Students in the sixth form receive a good education. The sixth form is well led. Students in the sixth form learn well in all subjects...teaching is effective and students make good progress in academic and vocational subjects.

We are incredibly proud of our sixth form and the progress our students make.

Embarking on Sixth Form life is very different from earlier schooling.  The leap in expectation, challenge and intensity of studying level 3 courses is significant.  Students in the Sixth Form have more independence and responsibility for their own work which requires the development of essential study skills.

At The North School, you will benefit from an established student-centred support system to ensure that you derive maximum benefit from your time in the sixth form.  We benefit from a unique community structure which includes the Principal and Vice Principal of Sixth Form, a Learning Leader, Pastoral Support Staff, a Bursar and dedicated Careers Guidance staff.  This team of educational professionals working on your behalf means there is always someone to whom you can talk.

Alongside the academic focus of the Sixth Form, students also benefit from excellent enrichment opportunities ranging from working as teaching support, running school clubs and societies for younger students through to linking with outside agencies such as NCS and Young Chambers.  These opportunities provide valuable experience for personal statements and CVs to enable our students to make a very successful transition to university and further training or employment.

Entry requirements for the Sixth Form are detailed in our prospectus.  ALL APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE MADE THROUGH WWW.UCASPROGRESS.COM and applications are accepted at any time.  Please contact a member of the sixth form team for further details.
